Holiday Schedule!

In honor of Memorial Day, The Shillelagh Club will be closed this Monday May 28.

To start the long weekend early we are opening at noon on Friday, May 25. Make the club your meet up spot!

Then this Friday evening, the Shillelagh Club welcomes for the first time The Hardcases-Solo Acoustic Entertainment to play our weekly Happy Hour celebration from 6:30 until 8:30. The Hardcases features Scott Heath, a multi-instrumentalist and member of those veteran pub rockers, The Skels. Scott plays a wide range of cover songs and even a few originals, arranged for a variety of instruments. The kitchen will be open and offering some great pub favorites as well as specials, and the deck will be available for your al fresco dining pleasure. As always, the Shillelagh is open to the public and all are welcome. So com’on up the Club!

This Saturday, May 26, the bar will be showing the UEFA Champions League Match, Liverpool vs Real Madrid at 2:30pm. We have drink specials and the kitchen will open early for the game! As always emails thebar@shillelaghclub.com for more information.

Attention all Cooks – Wing Man Challenge at the Shillelagh Club!!

Saturday May 19th 4-8pm is our first annual Wing Man Cook Off.

Wing Man Challenge at the Shillelagh Club – Rules and Specifics

1.    Wing Category – Wings Any way! This is your recipe, there are no
restrictions. You may enter with more than one recipe. Please clarify how
many entries you have when signing up.

2.    Ingredients and Preparations – Contestants are responsible for all
their own ingredients.  A minimum of 50 wings is needed per entry. Wing
buying tips are available on our FB event page. There are no restricted
ingredients or sauces. All wings are to be prepared before the competition
begins. Each contestant will get 15 minutes of prep to heat and sauce
their wings before they are distributed. The Club will provide plates and
napkins for contestants if desired.

3.    Cooking– Options for heating wings include a deep fryer, oven, warming
oven or broiler. Sanitation is expected through out all stages of this
event. Please leave our prep areas ready for the next contestant.

4.    Judging – Wings will be served to our judges, two a piece, from one
contestant at a time. The judges will score each entry and vote after
having tested all entries. Criteria for judging will be TASTE, APPERANCE,
ORIGINALITY. Each Judge will choose a favorite entry in each category, the
favorites will be totaled and the contestant with the most votes in all
categories will be the winner. Score cards with room to make notes will be
given to all judges.

5.    Prizes – The winner will be awarded our Wing Man Cook Off Trophy and a
gift certificate for $75 in food and drink at The Shillelagh Club.

6.    Registration– Upon arrival please check in with our bar staff and you
will be given a time slot to present your wings.

The Annual Shillelagh Super Bowl Party – Sunday at 6pm!

Shillelagh Irish Music Night – Saturday Jan 20th!

Please save the date and plan to join us for a special night of music on Saturday evening, January 20th.

We invite ALL, and especially all in the Irish community and organizations to this gathering. Bring an instrument or your voice as we join together to celebrate a little Irish and American culture through song. There will be several from our family of musicians attending.

There’s no charge to get in and as always the Pub is OPEN TO THE PUBLIC!

The Annual Shillelagh Halloween Party – Friday 10/27

At 7pm on Friday 10/27 it’s the Annual Shillelagh Halloween party – always guaranteed to be a scary good time!
Special dinner menu with drink specials and a night of rock n’ roll with our very own Mark Moran and his band “The Poor Man’s Opera”.

Costumes optional but encouraged. Prizes for best costume! 
Free admission – As always, we are open to the public!

Friendly Son’s of the Shillelagh – Frank O’Hara Association Party

This coming Friday night the Shillelagh Club in partnership with the Frank O’Hara Association, will host a party honoring this years West Orange St. Patrick’s Day Parade Grand Marshal and Deputy Grand Marshals. Those honorees are:

Grand Marshal – Maureen E. O’Hara

Deputy Grand Marshals Brian Aker, Michael Keigher, John McElroy and our own Timothy Sexton.

All are welcome and will be able to enjoy an open bar, entertainment and food. Admission at the door is $20.00 per person.

Friday, March 4th from 7:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. at the Shillelagh Club, 648 Prospect Avenue, West Orange.

Guest Bartender Night at the Club!

Seann Farrell, a teacher at Seton Hall Prep and faculty liaison to the Seton Hall Gaelic Society, is to honored this year by The Sons of Saint Patrick at their annual banquet. To facilitate students being able to attend this event special evening has been set up to offset the cost of admission.

Guest Bartender Night! Featuring Supreme Mixologists Vito Campanile – Head Football Coach, Julie Wester – History Teacher and David Giarrusso – Head lacrosse coach.

Entertainment provided by Big “E” Ryan
